Lucia Sabariego Arcón
Junior consultant: fisheries economics

Lucia has a BSc in environmental sciences obtained at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV). She received an award from the UPV Aula CIMSA Sustainability and Environment for her bachelor’s degree final project: “Assessment of pelagic fisheries in the West coast of Africa”.

Lucia has recently joined Naunet Fisheries Consultants as a trainee in fisheries economics. She is currently finishing her master’s degree final project where she is assessing the negative impacts that the implementation of Marine Protected Areas (MPA) has on local fisheries operating in the area (such as reduction on incomes, fisheries displacement, etc) and exploring mechanisms to compensate fishermen for those losses.

She is also interested in other fisheries related topics, such as the Results based management (RBM) applied to fisheries and labour right issues in the fishing industry.

Fluent in Spanish and English, Lucia loves outdoor activities and photography.

Naunet works in a wide range of projects at any one time. We maintain a register of external consultants which help us to implement projects within Naunet’s portfolio. If you cannot find the experience that you are looking for within our principal team, please ask us and we will find the right expert to carry out the project you are interested in.
